Great design begins with desire, talent, and great education. We can't speak a language we don't know. Architecture begins with understanding the elements of architectural language. Then we use that language to create poetry.
The Residential Design Academy was founded by Clayton Vance. Our mission is to empower aspiring designers, homeowners, builders, and architecture enthusiasts to embrace the timeless beauty of residential homes through creative knowledge.
Our Story
Clayton Vance had a mission at graduate school: Create a hub of architectural content that was entertaining and educational. So much education out there in the Academy is over our heads and too much entertainment has no real value. We watch home improvement shows thinking we know how to design, but never got the proper foundation.

We will provide that foundation. Immersive learning and practical application it is up to you.

It has been years since the inception of this idea in graduate school, but our team built up real world experience as licensed architects designing hundreds of residential projects. That experience translates to practical knowledge accompanying theory to provide you the best combination of learning.
